How does it all work?

When you purchase an annual subscription to Product Institute, you will be granted unlimited access to our full range of product management courses. As we continue to release new courses, you can continue to take any or all of them, in any order, at any time. Each course explores a different product management topic, and is full of valuable information in condensed form. We don’t want you to sacrifice your work or busy schedule, so every course is designed to be easily digestible- think short, fun videos, blog-post style content, downloadable worksheets, and optional activities to test out your new skills. The courses are broken down into small lessons, or units, which end in short quizzes to self-manage your comprehension. Courses are finished with a final multiple-choice exam. You can log in to your Product Institute curriculum whenever you’d like to access helpful frameworks or worksheets in PDF form.

When do the courses start and finish?

Our courses start whenever you say so! Once you subscribe to Product Institute, you can begin learning immediately with any of our courses. We recommend beginning with our original Product Management Foundations course, but it’s completely up to you. Each course is self-paced, so complete them on your own schedule as fast or as slowly as you’d like. You’ll have access to the material as long as you are subscribed to Product Institute, so consider these courses and frameworks to be your working manual on all things product management.

Can I really fit this course into my already hectic schedule?

Yes, we promise it’s more than doable. We’ve designed these courses with your busy life front of mind. Each course is entirely online, self-paced, and divided into digestible units that take less than 15 minutes to complete. Commute by train to work? Complete a unit! Find yourself on a long lunch break? Finish two! This really is a manageable program built to fit into your daily hustle and complement your current product workload.

How does your subscription model work?

As long as you are subscribed to Product Institute, your access to all current and future courses and material is unlimited. We will update you when new courses are available for you. You will be charged on the date of your initial subscription purchase, and then automatically charged annually at the then-current annual rate unless you cancel (no refunds will be issued for partial subscription periods).

I’m interested in team licenses - how does that work?

Your company or team can purchase course licenses for individual employees, and these licenses will be owned by your company. If your company purchases 20 or more licenses and an enrolled employee leaves the company, that purchased license can be reassigned to a new employee one time. We can reassign up to 10% of originally enrolled employee licenses. Licenses are based on a yearly subscription, with the option to upgrade to include advanced reporting. I'm from outside the United States. Can I enroll?

Absolutely, please do! We are proud of Product Institute’s international reach- to date, our students hail from 18 different countries, including New Zealand, Singapore, Ireland, Czech Republic, and Germany. We hope to bring our approach to product management to many more countries soon!

Do the videos have captions?

Yes, all of our videos offer optional captions in English.

Will we get a certificate at the end of each course?

A certificate of completion will be generated for you once you have successfully completed a course and pass the final exam.

Can I add a certificate of completion to my LinkedIn profile once I've finished a course?

Yes! You can add a certificate for each course you complete. Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Linkedin account and scroll down to the “Licenses and Certifications” section
  2. Click the Plus Sign (+) at the top right hand corner of that section
  3. Type in the name of the course you've completed in "Name" - for example, “Market Research”
  4. Type “Product Institute” into the "Issuing Organization" Section
  5. Fill out the date of completion (optional)
  6. Click Save

The certification will now appear as part of your LinkedIn Profile.

What if I am unhappy with the courses?

We would never want you to be unhappy with your purchase. If you have completed less than 30% of the course within 30 days of sign-up and you are unsatisfied with the material, contact us at [email protected] and we will provide a full refund. If you’ve worked through 30% or more of any course or it is past 30 days since you’ve purchased the course, we can no longer offer any refunds. If you choose to cancel your subscription after 30 days, no refunds will be issued for partial subscription periods but you can continue to access your content until the end of your year-long subscription window.

Are there any new courses in the works?

We have four more exciting courses launching in 2020 alone, including Tech Fundamentals, Product Strategy + Roadmaps, and Metrics. Our members will automatically have access to these courses when they are live - we will let you know as soon as they are available! We will continue to expand our curriculum, so expect to see new courses each year - and contact us at [email protected] if you have any suggestions for course topics!

Will I receive an invoice for my subscription?

If you are purchasing an individual membership subscription, you will receive a receipt following payment with all the information you need to request reimbursement from your employer. If you are purchasing one of our Team subscriptions, you will receive an invoice. If you do need an invoice for reimbursement, we recommend purchasing a Team subscription instead of an Individual plan.

Does the course come in any other languages besides English or provide translations?

We currently only offer our courses in English. If you are interested in taking Product Institute in another language, please email us at [email protected] to let us know. This will help us prioritize for the future.

My company is interested in taking this course, does Product Institute offer a pilot program?

Many companies have started by enrolling a few students in Product Institute and then expanding their enrollment to include additional teams. We recommend purchasing courses for one or two employees, and then opting to scale to the rest of your teams once you’re familiar with our content. We are more than happy to upgrade team licenses to enterprise or reporting levels if you would like to expand. Email [email protected] for more information.

I am not currently working as a Product Manager. Will the course still be relevant to me?

If you have experience working on software teams, either as a developer, project manager, designer, or marketer, you should be all set to subscribe even if you are not a product manager already. You may find the material difficult if you do not have a basic understanding of how software products are built.
